   Day 1

   Colombo to Kandy via gentle giants

   Colombo → Kandy (≈130 km, 4.5 hrs)

   Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

   A warm meet-and-greet at the airport, then a winding drive inland. Pause at Pinnawala, where orphaned elephants bathe and browse open enclosures. Kandy’s hills welcome you for dinner and rest.

   Tea slopes & “Little England”

   Kandy → Nuwara Eliya (≈80 km, 3 hrs)

   Climb toward Nuwara Eliya past a hill-country Hanuman shrine, a working tea factory tour, and the mist of Ramboda Falls. Victoria Park and Lake Gregory lend a breezy colonial-era stroll.

   Highland gardens & farms

   Visit Seetha Amman Temple, Hakgala’s cool-climate botanical collections, and either Ambewela’s dairy pastures or the wide skies over Moon Plains — your pace sets the rhythm.

   From mist to the southwest shore

   Nuwara Eliya → Kalutara (≈200 km, 6.5 hrs)

   Southwest coast

   Descend from tea country to the sun-warmed coast. Check in south of Colombo and let the Indian Ocean soundtrack the evening.

   Bentota nature & optional thrills

   Bentota (day trip)

   Turtle hatcheryMadhu River

   A short coastal hop opens turtle conservation work, a mangrove-lined Madhu River cruise, and optional jet skis or banana-boat fun — paid on the spot unless pre-arranged through Agoua Travel.

   Kalutara → Colombo (≈60 km, 2 hrs)

   Gangaramaya’s eclectic relic halls, Independence Square’s formal lawns, Galle Face breezes, revitalised Dutch Hospital dining, and the lotus silhouette of Colombo’s tower — a capital sampler before one last night.
